Deciding to better yourself is a great goal to set. Personal development - the art of making more out of yourself - can be an enriching, highly rewarding process. It does not require an all-encompassing master plan, either. You can kick off a personal development routine (or improve your existing one) with a few simple ideas like these:

With personal development it is important to realize how you compare to the rest of the world in terms of importance. This is crucial because in order to grow, in order to realize how little you know, and how much there is to learn, you need to first establish where you stand with the rest of the world.

If you have both a doctor and a therapist, make sure that they are on the same page. Your doctor and your therapist do not necessarily have to communicate with each other. You might; however, want to keep one abreast of what the other is doing with you. It can avoid later confusion and complication.

With personal development, make sure that you embrace change no matter how much difficulty it may cause you. This is important because the world is always changing and when you accept change you accept all of the inevitability in this life. You need to be aware of ways you might need to change and actions you will have to take to do so.

If you want to better yourself, you should make sure you have an excellent coach who will be a mentor for you. Having a top-notch coach is essential to have because he or she will push you through the rough patches that you have and ultimately lead you to success.

Sometimes it is much too complicated to figure out what you want to do with the rest of your life. If you are baffled by that you should try mapping out what you want to do with the next five years. That should be much less taxing to figure out.

Empower yourself to better handle conflicts by identifying phrases, people, and ideas that trigger a negative emotional response in your head. By familiarizing yourself with these instigators, you can train yourself to avoid simply shutting down and becoming overly defensive. Preventing these behaviors makes you more prepared to constructively work with the other side to reach a compromise.

If you are turning to self help remedies to help out with your depression, a great tip is to make an effort to enrich your relationship with family and friends. Often times, your life will feel more fulfilled when you have strong connections with many people and this is a great way to accomplish that.

While the path to your personal development goals might be long, it need not be arduous. Keeping your eyes peeled for new personal development ideas is always a good idea. You may run into more handy tips like the ones in this article that can get you to your goals faster - or at least keep the journey to them from getting dull.

There are a lot of reasons for possibly wanting a tattoo removed – the positive element of tattoo removal is that you are no longer burdened with a tattoo you seriously regret. If a tattoo is holding you back from getting a job you want or keeps you from attaining goals you have set for yourself, a little pain and scarring may be worth it to you. If you have a gang-related tattoo and are no longer associating yourself with that gang or any gang (good for you!), it would be in your best interests to have it removed. If you have a tattoo that symbolizes hate or prejudice, I hope that you will decide that it is time to let it go. If you are wearing a tattoo of a past love and now you have a new special person in your life, it would be unkind to your new love NOT to get rid of the old tattoo.
If you have a tattoo that you wish to have partially or completely removed, you should first consider your options and decide which method might be best for you.

Laser Removal
Today, lasers are the most common method of tattoo removal. They work by targeting the ink with pulses of highly concentrated light that break the ink into tiny fragments, which are then cleared away the your own immune system. However, this isn’t all done with just one treatment. The more treatments you have, the more the laser can penetrate to destroy the ink. But, the more treatments you have, the more damage you do to your skin, causing painful blisters and scabs that can eventually lead to scarring. Experts in removal therapy say that technology has advanced to the point where scarring is minimal, sometimes non-existant, but this can vary depending on the situation.
On top of being physically painful (it has been described as feeling like being splattered with hot grease), laser removal can be painful to your wallet as well. Depending on your tattoo, you may need anywhere from 1-10 sessions, each costing in the range of $250-$850 per session. A large, professional tattoo in color could cost thousands of dollars to remove, and the effectiveness of the removal still isn’t guaranteed.

Intense Pulsed Light Therapy
Intense Pulsed Light Therapy, or IPL, is a dermal enhancer currently being used in some spas. Instead of laser light, it uses high intensity light in pretty much the same manner. A gel is applied to the skin and then a wand is used to emit pulses of light onto the skin area being treated. This method is said to be less painful and more effective than traditional laser therapy, but there are many tattoo removal experts who do not recommend IPL. Even if it does work a little better, the bad news is that it also carries a heftier price tag – one clinic offering a price of $10 per pulse. Depending on how many pulses per session your tattoo requires, this could add up to a significant amount of money.

Other Medical Methods
There are other methods of tattoo removal, but most of them are so painful and ineffective that laser removal replaced them as soon as it became available. These other methods include dermabrasion, which would actually “sand” away the top layer of skin through abrasive friction. Another method is excision, where the tattoo would be cut away and the skin sewn back together. These methods have proved to cause much damage to the skin and result in severe scarring, and are only used today in extreme cases where laser surgery is not an option.

Do-It-Yourself Cream Removals
I have not personally tested any of the at-home cream removal methods I have seen advertised – even the ones that appear right here on this website. Honestly, I would not expect a whole lot from them. However, the Tattoo Removal Institute (which I am suspicious of being connected with Tat B Gone, but I can’t prove it yet) states that they have tested a few of these products, and found a couple of them to live up to their claims. According to their research, both TatBGone and Tattoo-OFF did show significant fading of the tattoos without any pain or damage to the skin. I am still very skeptical, but if you really need a tattoo removed and don’t have the money for surgery, I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try one or both of these products. It’s not chump change, though – a 2 month supply of Tat B Gone is $125, and it takes several months to get the desired results, according to the Tattoo Removal Institute. A 2 month supply of Tattoo-OFF is $116.95. So, it isn’t inexpensive by any means, but certainly a lot more affordable than laser surgery. But before you shell out any money for these products, you might want to read some of the comments that have been sent in by people who have tried them.

Personal development is a way to improve who you are as a person, both mentally and emotionally, and to improve the life that you lead. Achieving your own personal development goals requires educating yourself on all of the different tactics that are used so that you can determine which ones work and which ones do not. Read the following article to learn some good personal development advice to get you started on the right track.

Quit worrying so much. Worrying is really imagining things that are not there, and why worry about something that hasn't happened? Worry isn't productive. Instead, determine the worst that could happen and prepare to address that situation should it arise. This makes you feel prepared for the worst while still being able to focus on the best things in your life.

Read good articles about personal development. Many of the best-selling books offer page after page of useful, and possibly life-changing, ideas and insight. Always check serious reviews of a book before you buy it because some books are very poorly written.

Create a written pep talk for yourself. Take a small sheet of paper and write down every positive attribute you possess. Put this list up on a wall, or carry it with you. Make a video of yourself reading it and watch it as often as you need. The reason to watch the video or read the postcard as often as possible is to remind yourself of how wonderful you think you are.

A great personal development tip is to be kind to your body. If your body is telling you that you are hungry, thirsty, etc., then you should work to correct that problem immediately. You need a healthy body to serve you for years to come. Ignoring those needs may cause your body to ignore you.

Unless you take care of yourself, you won't be able to care for anyone else. Whether you're just starting your personal development plan or are well down the road and regardless of whether you're succeeding or failing, you have to set aside time for yourself to rest, relax, and regroup.

Learn things that people that are successful are doing; use them in your own life. Start with a couple habits and then practice them until they're permanent parts of your life. You should keep it up for at least 21 days to make it a habit.

Comfort shopping is not a good idea. Shopping to make yourself feel better will only result in high bills, more stress and excess possessions that clutter your home and your life.

Focus on your true character and personality rather than your superficial appearance. Clothes and looks are no reflection of the true personality of person. Your personality is what will prevail in your life. Focus on improving your character instead of your external appearance.

So, as you can see, a great way to improve your life and learn more about yourself is through personal development. If you want to make advances in personal development, you need to understand what strategies will or will not be effective. By putting into practice the advice offered in this article, you will be well on your way to improving your life!

Thinking about removing that tattoo of your ex-girlfriend’s name from your arm?

While lovers come and go, tattoos are intended to be permanent. But as more consumers get tattoos, there are also more people eager to get rid of them.

Roughly one in four adult Americans has at least one tattoo — and 17 percent are considering getting rid of theirs, according to a survey published in the September issue of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Now, one company has found a way to make tattoo inks that, while still permanent, are also easily removed. The company, Freedom-2 LLC, will make the special ink available next year.

This new type of ink is injected into the skin in the same way as conventional tattoo inks. However, it is only permanent in the skin until the owner changes his or her mind. With a single pass of a laser, tattoos composed of this special ink can be safely and fully removed.

The new technology is the result of a combined effort by a team of scientists from Harvard Medical School and Duke University.

Removal of Conventional Tattoos Time-Consuming and Costly

Conventional tattoos are typically removed with laser technology. However, laser treatments are costly and time-consuming, and complete removal is sometimes not possible.

“Conventional tattoo removal takes multiple visits,” said Dr. Charles Taylor, director of Khosrow Momtaz Phototherapy Center at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. “Professional tattoo artists use heavy metals in their tattoo inks. For example, blacks have iron, blues have cobalt. Heavy metals are fairly resistant to current laser technology.”

And certain characteristics of the tattoo can also affect how difficult removal will be. Dr. Sandy Tsao, associate program director for procedural dermatology at Harvard Medical School in Boston, said the type of ink that is used, along with the age of the tattoo and the skill level of the artist involved, can play an important role.

“These three factors determine how many treatments the patient will require and the eventual cost,” Tsao said. “On average, a professional tattoo requires about eight to ten sessions, spaced six to eight weeks apart. The average cost per treatment ranges from $250 to $400.”

This means the tattoo that might have cost you a couple of hundred bucks to get will require a few thousand dollars to remove.

Aside from the time and money required for conventional tattoo removal, there are a number of well-known risks associated with the laser tattoo removal procedure itself.

“The treatments can be painful, and they generally require a topical anesthetic,” said Tsao.

During the period immediately following laser tattoo removal, some of the expected side effects include scabbing and crusting, which can last between a week and ten days, Tsao said.

“The biggest risk is having a permanent loss of your normal pigmentation, almost similar to having a negative impression of the tattoo image on the skin,” she said. “Tattoo removal can also lead to scar formation, sometimes.

“There is an increased possibility of scarring if the tattoo is located on the ankle or the upper back because these are scar-prone areas.”

‘Smart Pigment’ Allows for Targeted Destruction

Unlike the conventional counterparts, the company says that its new ink is specifically designed to be removed by a laser.

Poor personal development can negatively affect you, both physically and emotionally. You need to do a lot of your research so that you don't get depressed if you don't achieve your goals right away. There are some tips listed below to help you start working on your own plan for personal development.

Decide exactly how you want to live, and then do it. If we do not decide how we want our lives to go, we will end up doing something, but probably not what we really want to be doing. Other things and outside people can interfere and make the decision for us. Be true to your inner self and constantly seek that which you want to do, then do it.

Take half an hour and write out every good quality you feel you have. It's important to understand who you are as a person. What are your key characteristics that you feel you exude? You will want to increase the level at which you offer those good qualities to the world. By writing them out, you are essentially beginning an action plan for personal development.

If you focus too much on what you want, then you create reasons for why you can not have what you want. This leads you to dwell on your weaknesses. Rather, focus on gratitude. Every day, you should focus on things that you are grateful for. This will give you a positive outlook on life.

A great personal development tip that everyone would do well to abide by is to justify your beliefs. You are only kidding yourself if you don't truly have faith in the things in and it can hinder your personal growth a great deal. Be honest with yourself about what you believe in.

Try to maintain a positive outlook. An upbeat attitude can do wonders for your mood. Consciously try your hardest not to let yourself get too overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed - no matter what the problem. Just telling yourself that things will be alright can sometimes keep you feeling upbeat long enough to succeed in making that true.

Remember that personal development is beyond your physical self. Having more pride in how you carry yourself is extremely important, but your development ultimately hinges on a healthy relationship with yourself and the world around you. Consider learning meditation techniques as you learn new ways to process and react to the world around you.

Stand up for your belief systems. Your convictions make your personal character, so be sure to defend what you think is right. There are times when we're tempted to step down and follow the herd. However, standing up and being counted can encourage bravery in others and stop injustice before it starts.

Poor personal development can be very troublesome, but with some work and some patience, you can beat it. It just takes research, working, and planning what to do so that you can approach it better. Do yourself a favor and try using the above tips to help with your personal development.

What comes into your mind when you think of tattoos? A cool design, some nice strokes, and some bold colors? But there is a new trend catching up these days…, the tattoo lettering trend! There are many guys and girls that are getting words inked on themselves instead of a full on symbol or design! I, personally, feel that word tattoos have a more clear and intense significance in them. I mean, a tattoo design is attractive too, but then inking words that are imprinted in your mind and soul, sort of gives the whole tattoo a different look and feel.

Another amazing thing about word tattoos is that they attract more people towards them as everyone wants to read the entire set of tattooed words to know what it means, which in turn makes people take a peek into your inner values and beliefs. On the other hand, in case of tattoo designs people may just look at the beauty of it and complement you for the same. We also know that it is human to judge others based on their appearance. Your tattoo speaks a lot about yourself. So, inking words or quotes that you stand by and which have helped form a basis of your personality would be a good idea! This article will help you get some good word tattoo ideas for girls as it proceeds further.

Celebrity tattoos. They’ve become so commonplace that it's almost rare to see a celebrity who doesn't have one peeking out from their sleeve or their gown.
But have you ever stopped to wonder about your favorite star's tats? What they mean, why they're there, or how they've affected lives and careers? Sometimes, the stories surrounding these markings are more interesting than the designs themselves.
We researched a slew of our favorite celebrities to bring you the tales behind their tattoos. Have a look below.
Picture
Angelina Jolie

Jolie sports a variety of tattoos all over her body, but perhaps her most famous markings are on her left shoulder. What was once a loving tribute to her second husband Billy Bob Thornton (complete with a dragon) was removed to make room for a list of geographic coordinates. These coordinates, of which there are seven, correspond with the birthplaces of each of her children (Cambodia for Maddox, Vietnam for Pax, Ethiopia for Zahara, Namibia for Shiloh and France for twins Vivienne and Knox) along with the birthplace of her partner (Pitt was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma).

Picture
Katy Perry

In addition to the singer’s many tattoos, which include a strawberry on her ankle and the word “Jesus” on her wrist, Katy Perry bears the phrase “Anuugacchati Pravaha” on her inner bicep. The words, which she and ex-husband Russell Brand both inked on themselves during happier times, roughly translate to “go with the flow” from Sanskrit. “That's our motto,” Katy once said in an interview with the QMI agency. “We decided to get it after all the whole engagement in India, which was really beautiful and wonderful. He'd never had a tattoo and I kind of pressured him into doing it.”

Picture
Rihanna

Every time we turn around, it seems Rihanna has a new tattoo. One of her most visible is located underneath her right clavicle, reading "Never a failure. Always a lesson." As Rihanna explained during an interview on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," it's printed backwards so she can read it whenever she looks into a mirror. "It's basically saying that it's OK to make a mistake," she added. "Just don't make them twice."

Picture
Victoria Beckham

Spice Girl and fashionista Victoria Beckham got "Ani ledodi vedodi li haro'eh ba'shoshanim" tattooed on her neck to commemorate her sixth wedding anniversary with soccer star David Beckham (who inked the very same phrase on his forearm). The Hebrew quote, taken from the Old Testament, translates to "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine, who grazes among lilies."

Picture
David Beckham

David Beckham has more tattoos than we can count, but one particular design caused a stir in March of 2012. A provocative forearm tattoo of Victoria Beckham adorned with the vow "Til death us do part" (originally David's way of showcasing his marital commitment) popped up in promotional posters for Sainsbury's Active Kids initiative, which is aimed at preschool-aged children. David is currently an ambassador for the program, but some folks were none too pleased when his image — complete with a visible tattoo of his scantily-clad wife — was distributed to 47,000 schools and community groups throughout the United Kingdom.
